Patrick Van Beneden (°1962) has worked at GIMV since 1985 and joined the Executive Committee in February 2001. He heads up the Life Sciences business unit.
He is a board member of various listed and non-listed investments, including DeVGen, Avalon Pharmaceuticals and the Biotech Fonds Vlaanderen.
Patrick Van Beneden has a degree in Financial Sciences from VLEKHO in Brussels.

Frank Bulens (°1963) joined GIMV in 1998 as an Executive Investment Manager.
He is member of the board of directors of Innate Pharma, Ceres, Diatos and Ablynx. Until 1997 he was a scientific staff member at the Centre for Molecular and Vascular Biology (University of Leuven, Belgium). He also held the position of senior scientific advisor at the IWT, a Flemish governmental research fund organisation.
He is an Engineer in Chemistry/Biochemistry and obtained a MSci. and PhD. in Medical Sciences from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
Jim Van heusdenExecutive Investment Manager Life Sciences
Dr. Jim Van heusden (°1971) began at GIMV as Investment Manager in 2001.
After earning his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Maastricht (NL), he took the position of senior scientist in the Oncology division of Janssen Pharmaceutica, a Johnson & Johnson company.
Jim Van heusden is board member of Pronota (ex Peakadilly) and ActoGenix and he is observer at Ambit, Plexxikon and Xanthus Pharmaceuticals. He holds a Master's degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Antwerp (B).
Christophe Van VaeckSenior Investment Manager Life Sciences
Dr. Christophe Van Vaeck (°1973) started at GIMV in 2008 as a Senior Investment Manager.
During 8 years he has been active as a Financial Analyst in the Life Sciences sector. He started at Bank degroof and later, in 2003, he began working for KBC Securities, where he guided several IPO's including those of Galapagos, deVGen, Thrombogenics and Ablynx.
Christophe Van Vaeck earned his Ph.D. in Biology at the lab of Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Leuven.
