The Buyouts & Growth team in the Netherlands was established as a result of the acquisition of European buyout specialist Halder in 2000. Active since 1983, Halder ranked among the leading investment companies, focusing on buyouts in the small & medium sized businesses in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
In the Netherlands, Gimv’s Buyouts & Growth division invests in mid-market companies with excellent management teams, operating in particular niche markets. Local investment managers are committed to developing a trust-based business relationship with their future business partners. They gain an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of the particular business, which has proven to be the perfect basis for sound investment decisions.
In addition to providing equity capital as a financial investor, the division supports portfolio companies with advice and know-how gained from investing in more than 100 companies.
Typically, Gimv is represented on the Supervisory Board, but does not interfere with the day-to-day management. Gimv’s investment objective is to increase portfolio companies’ value over the long term. The Buyouts & Growth division puts less emphasis on current return, such as dividend payments.
