Alex Brabers (1965) joined Gimv in 1990, after working for Dexia Bank.

He is a board member of various listed and non-listed companies, including Telenet, Inside Secure, Nomadesk, OTN Systems and Oree. Before he was on the board of Mobistar, Emme, Barco, Barconet, Option and Telos.

Alex Brabers holds a Masters degree in Economics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

Description

Belgian cable operator Telenet was founded in 1996. Telenet offers TV-distribution services (both analogue and digital), broadband Internet access and telephony. Telenet is Belgium's largest supplier of broadband cable services to the residential market. Via Telenet Solutions, the company also focuses on the professional market. It provides customised voice, data, Internet and digital television solutions to large corporations, government organisations and healthcare institutions, as well as SMEs. Since 2005, Telenet has been listed on the Euronext Brussels stock exchange. The company employs about 1,500 people.
