Koen Dejonckheere was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Gimv in 2008. Before, he was Managing Director and head of Corporate Finance at KBC Securities, where he made major contributions to the European expansion of the corporate finance activities.

Previously, Koen Dejonckheere worked for Nesbic, Halder, Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance Europe and the former BBL, now ING. Koen Dejonckheere has extensive experience as a dealmaker in investment banking and private equity in Belgium and abroad. In recent years, he has become one of the authorities amongst Belgian investment bankers.

Koen Dejonckheere holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ghent and an MBA from IEFSI in Lille (France).

Dirk Beeusaert

Executive Vice President Business Development and Secretary of the Board of Directors

Dirk Beeusaert has worked for Gimv since 1996. He is responsible for business development and providing support with the legal aspects of deals. He is also company secretary and, as such, co-responsible for the proper functioning of the Gimv group.

He has a law degree from the University of Ghent and a special degree in tax law and accounting (Vlerick). He joined the Executive Committee in 2001.

Alex Brabers joined Gimv in 1990 and is responsible for the Technology business unit. He joined the Executive Committee in 2001.

He is a board member of various listed and non-listed companies, including Telenet. He holds a degree in Economics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

Paul De Ridder

Executive Vice-President Buyouts & Growth - Germany

Paul De Ridder has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2001 and is responsible for the Buyouts & Growth business unit in Germany. From 1978 to 1991, he worked at Continental Bank, primarily in Italy and Germany.

He is a board member of various investee companies. Paul De Ridder holds a degree in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and an MBA from Antwerp Commercial College (Belgium).

Peter Maenhout

Executive Vice-President Buyouts & Growth - Belgium / Gimv-XL

As Executive Vice-President Peter Maenhout is responsible for the Gimv-XL fund and the Belgian buyout and growth capital activities. Before joining Gimv, he was head of the Benelux office for investment manager Amber Capital. Prior to that, he was active in mergers & acquisitions and equity capital market transactions at Petercam and Generale Bank. 

In his various functions he has been working closely together with management teams of both private and public companies, but also with their shareholders and entrepreneurs and this across a wide variety of industries in the Benelux.

Peter Maenhout holds Master Degrees in International Relations (UG) and in Finance (Vlerick) as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Patrick Van Beneden has worked at Gimv since 1985. He joined the Executive Committee in 2001. He heads up the Life Sciences business unit.

He is a board member of various listed and non-listed investees, including deVGen, Avalon Pharmaceuticals and the Biotech Fonds Vlaanderen. Patrick Van Beneden has a degree in Financial Sciences from VLEKHO in Brussels (Belgium).

Marc Vercruysse

Marc Vercruysse has been a member of the Executive Committee since 1998. He is a board member of various listed and non-listed investees.

He joined Gimv in 1982 and was successively Internal Auditor, Senior Investment Manager and Head of the Structured Finance department. Marc Vercruysse has a degree in Applied Economics from Ghent University (Belgium).
