Gimv provides growth opportunities to established companies by completing buyout transactions and providing growth capital.
Buyouts are executed in mid-sized enterprises with a strong market position, excellent growth potential and a first-class management team. They can either be divisions of a large concern or privately owned companies.
Gimv is convinced that operational autonomy helps create entrepreneurial business opportunities. Once the acquisition is completed, the company’s management continues to run it on a daily basis. When a buyout is completed, a new shareholder structure is created, with Gimv taking a majority stake in the company.
When providing growth capital, Gimv takes minority shareholdings that do not fundamentally change the company’s shareholder structure.
Gimv is involved in its portfolio companies’ management activities through board membership and frequent informal meetings. Investees can rely on Gimv as a trustworthy, experienced coach, a strategic advisor and a critical sounding board for new development ideas and approaches. Gimv also functions as a relationship manager in its investee companies’ contacts with local and foreign financial institutions.
The Buyouts & Growth division boasts over 30 years of experience. The division has teams in Antwerp, Paris, The Hague and Frankfurt. The local teams’ insight in their home markets, their proximity to the investee companies and the international network of expertise that they can rely on are among the division’s greatest strengths.
Gimv also invests in Russia through Eagle Capital Partners, a partnership with KBC Private Equity.
