Description

Port company Westerlund, founded in 1903, specializes in handling forest products (mainly paper and pulp). Over recent years, it has evolved into a full service logistics company. The Belgian terminal in Antwerp has grown into the world’s largest terminal, extending over 880,000 m², including 260,000 m² of covered storage. Globally, the group owns sea terminals in Rouen (France) and Changsu (China) and Container Freight Stations in the ports of Tilbury (UK) and Marseille (France). Westerlund became ISO 9001 and 14001 certified in 2002. It takes part in various key environmental projects around its terminals. In 2008, Gimv sold its stake to the Australian infrastructure fund Babcock & Brown.
