Koen Dejonckheere was appointed CEO of Gimv in 2008. Previously, he was managing director at KBC Securities. Prior to that, Koen Dejonckheere was active in both Corporate Finance and Private Equity.

Koen Dejonckheere graduated in civil engineering at Ghent University and has an MBA from IEFSI-EDHEC in Lille (France).

In addition to his position as CEO, he has also been a member of the board of directors of Gimv since 2008.

Edmond Bastijns joined Gimv in September 2000 and since 2007, he has been responsible for the legal department in his capacity as Chief Legal Officer. In July 2016, he was appointed Secretary General and became a member of the executive committee. Before Gimv, he was a lawyer at Linklaters in Brussels (formerly De Bandt, van Hecke & Lagae) from 1996 until 2000. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and he recently completed the Advanced Management Program at the Chicago Booth School of Business.

Alex Brabers joined Gimv in 1990, after working for one of the predecessors of Belfius Bank.
Alex developed the international venture capital activity of Gimv, by investing in new innovative companies, followed by active support of the management team and eventually exiting either through IPO or trade sale. He built the VC team of Gimv and coached it in developing its place in the European VC ecosystem. Since 2012, Alex is responsible for all investment activity of Gimv, overseeing the 4 investment platforms.

He is a board member of various portfolio companies, including OTN Systems (B) and Itineris (B). Before that, he was a member of the board of directors of Telenet (B), Mobistar (B), Emme (F), Barco (B), Barconet (B), Option (B), Teads (F), Inside Secure (F), Punch Powertrain (B), Oree (Isr), Virtensys (UK) and Telos (Ca).

Alex was involved in policy issues for the European VC and PE industry as board member of Invest Europe and as chairman of the Venture Capital Platform of Invest Europe.

Alex Brabers holds a Master degree in Economics from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven).

During his more than 20 years at Gimv, Bart Diels has built a successful and broad full cycle track record, both in early and late stage investments, in business building, buy & build strategies and exit (IPO & trade sale) and this in different sectors.

Bart guided early stage companies such as BAI, Coreoptics, eXimius, Filepool and Metris from a smart idea towards a rewarding exit. Also later stage deals such as FICS and LMS were successfully sold. Today, Bart is chairman at OTN Systems and board member at Eurocept. In addition to his deal experience, Bart was also very instrumental in building out Gimv’s Venture Capital team and practice. His broad experience will be vital in further expanding Gimv’s Health & Care platform, which he has been leading since the end of 2012.

Bart holds a Master’s degree in Financial and Quantitative Economics and an MBA, both from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).

Peter Maenhout joined Gimv in 2009 as Executive Vice-President for the Belgian Buyout & Growth activities, incl. the Gimv-XL Fund. Before joining Gimv, he was head of the Benelux office for investment manager Amber Capital. Prior to that, he was active in mergers & acquisitions and equity capital market transactions at Petercam and Generale Bank.

In his various functions he has been working closely together with management teams of both private and public companies, but also with their shareholders and entrepreneurs and this across a wide variety of industries in the Benelux.

Peter Maenhout holds Master Degrees in International Relations (UG) and in Finance (Vlerick) as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Benoît Raillard joined Gimv in 2014 as an Operating Partner. Before Gimv, Benoît was a Senior Director at AlixPartners, he held executive positions in BtoB service and retail companies (Elis, 5àSec) under several LBO transactions, he has been a strategy consultant at Bain & Co, a manager at Eli Lilly & Co in sales and marketing, and a manager at BNP Paribas in New York. Benoît has a significant experience in operational effectiveness improvement, in corporate strategy, in operational and financial restructuring, and working-capital improvement. His industry sector expertise includes retail, food and beverage services, garden centers, healthcare (pharmaceuticals and services), industrial equipment rental and maintenance, and business services.

Benoît has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, an MSc. in aeronautic engineering from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a finance degree from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.

Before joining Gimv in 2002, Ivo Vincente worked with Alpinvest Partners and PwC. Through the years he gained a lot of experience with numerous transactions. He has been involved among others in the investments in Muelink & Grol, Holonite, Bever Zwerfsport, Geveke, De Groot International, OGD, Studiekring, Oldelft Ultrasound, ARS T&TT, and more recently Brakel and Itho-Daalderop.

Ivo holds board seats at various Gimv portfolio companies. At Gimv, he is the Managing Partner in charge of the Sustainable Cities platform and he is member of the Executive Committee. Until January 2014, he was Head of Gimv the Netherlands.

Eric de Montgolfier joined Gimv in 2015 as Head of the French Office.

Before Gimv, Eric was for 11 years the co-founding Managing Partner and COO of Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners, which raised and managed € 530 million dedicated to controlling investments in growth buyouts in the lower segment of the French Mid-market. Prior to founding Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners, Eric joined Astorg, a French Private Equity firm in 1990, of which he became a founding Partner in 1998 when the firm became an independent management company.

Eric originated and invested in a variety of majority and minority transactions, alongside entrepreneurs and/or managers, mostly in the consumer (brand, retail and services), TMT and B2B sectors, targeting companies in which he accelerated growth, in France and internationally, through a combination of organic growth and buy-and-build or roll-out strategies. Eric held numerous Board seats over the years, including at French iconic companies such as Picard Surgelés, Bonpoint and Christian Liaigre.

Floris van Oranje joined Gimv in 2014 as head of the Dutch office. Since he took office he has been actively involved in the acquisition of Wellservices Group and UDB as well as the divestment of Numac.
Before joining Gimv, he worked at KPMG Corporate Finance where he focused on the oil and gas sector. Previously, he was sectorhead at Deutsche Bank and Relationship Banker in the Telecom, Media and Technology sector at ABN Amro Corporate Clients. In both functions he assisted several (family) businesses.
Floris has a master of Dutch Law from the Leiden University, in both business and criminal law. After he graduated, he worked for the Public Prosecution for five years.

Before joining Gimv in 2015, Sven was heading Deloitte’s Corporate Finance Advisory as a Managing Partner for twelve years. Large corporates (such as BASF, Deutsche Telekom, Lufthansa, Siemens and Volkswagen) but also Private Equity-homes (Apax, Carlyle, Emeram, EQT, Hannover Finanz, Riverside) and medium-sized companies (Bionade, Jochen Schweizer, Frequentis, MEN, Runnerspoint) were among his clients. His key expertise lies in the consumer/retail and the technology sector. Prior to working for Deloitte Sven was a Partner in a leading management consulting firm and in a medium-sized investment company.

In the course of his professional career Sven guided more than 100 transactions, among them several IPOs, and served as Member of the Board of various companies including Bionade, Bench and Regiolux. Today Sven represents Gimv on the board of Thinkstep.

Sven holds a Master’s degree in business economics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich where he also obtained his PhD in Strategic Management.

Before that Ronald was Sales Director at Flender – today a division of Siemens – for Industrial Drive Applications preceded by an engagement at Demag Cranes, here amongst others for five years in Shanghai as Deputy General Manager of its Chinese operations developing in the early 2000’s the company’s footprint in a very dynamically growing market.

Benoit joined Gimv's Health & Care team in 2016. Before Benoit was Head of M&A and IR at Medipole Partenaires Group (the 3rd largest private healthcare organizations in the territory with 55 care centers). As such, he was member of the Executive Committee of the group. He joined the management team of Medipole Partenaires in 2007. He directed many high level operations for the Group (acquisition, LBO operation, bond financing, etc.). In 2013, Benoit was a leader in one of the largest transactions of the sector (€1.1 billion): the merge of Médi-Partenaires and Medipole Sud Santé to give rise to the third largest health group in France.

Prior to joining Medipole Partenaires, Benoit worked at PwC as an auditor, then joined Rexel where he held several responsibilities both in France and abroad, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of southern Europe.
He graduated from ESCEM and the IMD Lausanne. Former auditor of IHEDN (66th SN), He is also a reservist in the French Navy (Lieutenant Commander).

Karl Nägler joined Gimv in 2011.

Having started his professional career in 2002 at Atlas Venture in London and Munich, he later joined Ventech, a Paris-based venture capital firm focused on Europe and China.

Karl has a successful track record in early and later stage Life Science investing and was instrumental in the formation, financing and/or exit of several start-ups across Europe, including U3 Pharma (acquired by Daiichi Sankyo), Nitec Pharma (acquired by Horizon Pharma, HZNP:US), Egalet (EGLT:US), Funxional Therapeutics (acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim) and Themis.

Since he joined Gimv, Karl has led investments into Prosonix (acquired by Circassia, CIR:LN), Covagen (acquired by Johnson & Johnson, JNJ:US) and Biom'up and has represented Gimv on the boards of those companies as well as on the board of Actogenix (acquired by Intrexon, XON:US).

Previously, Karl had worked as a Scientific Fellow at the CNRS for Neurochemistry in Strasbourg (France) and holds a PhD in the area of molecular neurobiology from the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (Berlin) and a Diploma in Biology from the Free University of Berlin.

Muriel joined Gimv in 2013 and is currently responsible for the Arkiv fund of Gimv. Gimv Arkiv Tech Fund II has an investment focus on innovative early stage companies active in ICT and Cleantech.  

Throughout her career, Muriel Uytterhaegen has developed, analyzed or challenged dozens of business plans and closed multiple deals. Currently Muriel is a board member at Nomadesk and Coscale, she is an observer in the board of Real Impact Analytics.

Muriel has over 15 years of experience in innovation management, technology transfer, venture capital and the growth of high-tech startups. She started her career as a consultant for BDO before joining the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in 1997. There she was responsible for several projects related to innovation and financing spin-offs and one of the initiators of Vlerick Venture Coaching, an initiative to coach young start-ups. In 2000 she was involved in the creation of Octalis, a spin-off from the UCL, active in Security and Audio-Visual Data Traffic Management. Before joining Gimv, she worked for the Flemish Innovation Fund (VINNOF), a seed capital fund that invests in young innovative companies in Flanders. As Senior Investment Manager she was responsible for ICT and board member of the portfolio companies in that sector (Caliopa, CMOSIS, Dacentec, NMDG, Oxynade, ...).

Muriel Uytterhaegen holds a master's degree in Business Economics from the University of Ghent and an MBA from the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School.
