Techinfra expands in the Frankfurt region through the acquisition of Keil & Purkl, validating Techinfra’s strategy

Portefeuille

The newly established Gimv portfolio company Techinfra, which has already owned Rohrleitungsbau Münster since the beginning of 2023, acquires Keil & Purkl Tiefbau GmbH (https://keilundpurkl.de) in the Frankfurt/Rhein-Main region. Techinfra thus strengthens its pipeline construction activity, enters the sewer construction and specialized civil engineering segment and acquires expertise in soil management and soil liquefaction. The former owners, namely Peter Keil, Ralf Purkl, Sören Gehm, and Nikolaus von der Hude, reinvest through the transaction in Techinfra and will provide long-term active support to the company.

The objective of Techinfra is the preservation, expansion, and development of critical infrastructure, which, also through the energy transformation, needs to be modernized or build new. Through this strategic acquisition Techinfra strengthens its presence in the German market and broadens its service spectrum to become a comprehensive provider for the expansion and maintenance of pipeline construction and cable laying networks, as well as specialized civil engineering across a wide range of supply media going through pipes and cables. Keil & Purkl, a well-positioned company in specialized civil engineering and pipeline construction, becomes after Rohrleitungsbau Münster, the second member of Techinfra’s fast growing group, confirming Gimv’s vision and investment thesis.

Peter Keil, Managing Director of Keil & Purkl Tiefbau GmbH, comments on behalf of the sellers: "The combination with Techinfra enables us to ensure a solid future and growth perspective for our customers and employees well into the next decade."

Udo Kiewel, Managing Director of Techinfra, regarding the future prospects: "In collaboration with Keil & Purkl, we have the capability to expand our service spectrum and offer a broader range of services in the field of critical infrastructure to more customers. We are confident that we together form a strong partnership to address the challenges associated with preserving and expanding our utility networks, ensuring a reliable supply to our society."

"We are delighted to welcome Keil & Purkl as the second renowned company to join Techinfra in such a short time due to our entrepreneurial approach. Market growth of critical infrastructure is continuously driven by increasing demand as well as the energy transformation – a good prerequisite for Techinfra to successfully continue its chosen growth path, and also inspire further companies to join the attractive platform of Techinfra," adds Maja Markovic, Chairwoman of Techinfra’s advisory board and Partner Sustainable Cities at Gimv.

Further details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
