The data controller collecting the data described herein is Gimv NV with registered office at Karel Oomsstraat 37, 2018 Antwerp, Belgium (hereafter “Gimv”). Gimv is committed to respect privacy and this privacy statement details its approach thereon. By using the Gimv website and submitting any personal data, you agree to the use by Gimv of such data in accordance with this privacy statement.
Gimv only collects personally identifiable information that is provided specifically and voluntarily by visitors of the Gimv website. Gimv receives limited identifiable information, such as first name, last name and email address from site visitors, typically to subscribe with the purpose of receiving more information from Gimv including but not limited to press releases or Gimv Insights. It is the policy of Gimv to limit the information collected to only the minimum information required to complete a visitor's request.
Visitors are also able to send email through the site. Their messages will contain the user's screen name and email address, as well as any additional information the user may wish to include in the message. Because we use the Gimv website as a recruiting tool, a visit to the Gimv website may also result in the user sending a resume to an individual within Gimv.
It is the intention of Gimv not to seek any sensitive information through the Gimv website unless legally required for recruiting purposes.
What is sensitive information? It includes a number of types of data relating to: race or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious or other similar beliefs; trade union membership; physical or mental health; sexual life or criminal record.
Use of Data
A user may choose to provide personal information in the following examples (non-exhaustive):

- Subscribe to our press releases and/or Gimv Insights
- Submit resumes or work history information
- Contact us for further information on Gimv, its activities as listed private equity company or its portfolio

Information attained via the Gimv website is used only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the information is collected. Next to the abovementioned ways of actively providing personal information to Gimv, personal information is also collected via the applications Google Analytics (in the context of the proper functioning of the website) and LeadForensics (in the context of Gimv’s legitimate commercial interest of conducting its daily business activities of making private equity or venture capital investments). LeadForensics is a third party tool that allows Gimv to obtain certain information about the website’s visitors, providing us with details such as the IP address of the requesting computer, the date and duration of the visitor's visit, and the pages of the website they have accessed. Please note that the LeadForensics tool uses the IP address only to identify businesses and does not use actual cookies to store information. Gimv may use this information to contact the businesses about their experience or for business purposes, but we will not share these data with any third parties. Personal data are not shared with other Gimv entities for secondary or unrelated purposes, or shared with a third party, with the exception of the aforementioned cases unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection.
Gimv will make every practical effort to avoid excessive or irrelevant collection of data. If a visitor of the Gimv website believes the site has collected excessive information, we encourage the visitor to contact us to raise any concerns.
Except where visitors explicitly choose to receive non-mandatory press releases, Gimv Insights or other specific marketing materials, if any, Gimv will not use personal data collected from the Gimv website to facilitate unsolicited marketing activities.

We recognize that your information is valuable and we take all reasonable measures to protect your information while it is in our care. As a result, the possibility exists that your personal information is transferred outside the country where you are located. This includes countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and countries that do not have laws that provide specific protection for personal information. By submitting personal data to this site, the visitor is providing explicit consent to the transfer of such data for the fulfilment of their voluntary requests.

Your personal information is not shared with any third party, for any secondary or unrelated purposes unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection. If there is an instance where such information may be shared, the visitor will be asked for permission beforehand.

Mailing list information and email are kept for only the period considered reasonable to facilitate the visitor's requests. Resumes are disposed of when they are either no longer under consideration, or are considered outdated.
Visitors provide personally identifiable information provided to Gimv through the Gimv website, voluntarily. Should visitors subsequently choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, we will provide instructions, on the appropriate website area or in communications to our visitors; or a visitor may contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Access, rectification, right to be forgotten & withdrawal of consent
Each visitor has the right of access to personal data they have submitted to Gimv through the Gimv website. Gimv is committed to providing reasonable and practical access to visitors to allow them the opportunity to identify and correct any inaccuracies.
User updates of information should be handled by going back through the registration process. Inquiries about the accuracy of identifying information previously submitted to Gimv through the Gimv website, or requests to have outdated information removed, should be directed to email@example.com.
When personally identifiable information is retained, Gimv assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of the information once a visitor has submitted and verified the data. Gimv does not assume responsibility for verifying the ongoing accuracy of the content of personal information.
When practically possible, if Gimv is informed that any personal data collected through a website is no longer accurate, Gimv will make appropriate corrections based on the updated information provided by the authenticated visitor.
When requested and practical, Gimv will delete identifying information from current operational systems.
