Gimv’s portfolio company KÖBERL Group strengthens its main location in Munich in the field of pipeline cleaning and wastewater technology by acquiring established specialists Rohrreinigungs-Service RRS GmbH and THG Abwassertechnik GmbH. Managing owner, Andreas Stauber, remains on board and takes a stake in KÖBERL Group. The parties agreed not to disclose the details of the transaction

The goal of the KÖBERL Group is the establishment of a leading full-spectrum provider in building technology and building management in Germany. Rohrreinigungs-Service RRS GmbH ("RRS") and THG Abwassertechnik GmbH ("THG") expand the attractive business area of Fink Gebäudetechnik. The Group will now also become a leading provider in this segment in the greater Munich area. These qualified specialists are known for their customer proximity, technical competence and availability combined with the very latest technical equipment. This combination not only increases KÖBERL Group’s recurring revenue but also represents an ideal strategic addition.

Commenting on the combination, Andreas Stauber noted: “Both RRS and THG have earned an excellent reputation in the greater Munich area for several decades. I am delighted to have found a strong partner in KÖBERL Group for the future of both companies. KÖBERL Group not only recognises our strong market position today, but also wants to continue to grow together. I am particularly looking forward to the synergies to be leveraged with Fink Gebäudetechnik. Following a very intensive process, ultimately KÖBERL Group’s entrepreneurial approach – with Gimv as an experienced and financially strong investment company in the background – was the decisive factor.

Armin and Karl Köberl, managing owners at KÖBERL Group, commented: “We welcome the addition of RRS and THG as two more members of the KÖBERL Group. Both are among the most renowned companies in the field of pipeline cleaning and sewer rehabilitation in the greater Munich area. They will complement our portfolio in the field of building technology and building management. This will enable us to respond even better to the wishes and requirements of our customers and partners. We are very much looking forward to an exciting and interesting collaboration that will further enhance the Group’s potential.”

“We are delighted to welcome RRS and THG as new, perfectly matching additions to the Group and we are proud that KÖBERL Group’s entrepreneurial approach led by Messrs. Köberl proved convincing”, notes Maja Markovic, Gimv Partner and KÖBERL Group Advisory Board Member. “For the Group, this merger represents another important strategic step towards becoming a leading full-spectrum provider.”
